What carrier do you know that doesn't? I'm pretty sure they all charge for their comparable services. Remember the "Text Blocking" isn't blocking all incoming texts. It is only for blocking texts while the operator is in a car (which would suck for passengers but is an awesome idea for while driving.)

It just seems like this should be a free app.

Not many carrier apps are free. Being that T-Mobile is the only one that has something that stops users from texting while driving (that I know of anyways) I can't see them pass up the opportunity to charge parents to stop their kids from doing it. I haven't looked but I would not be surprised if android phones have this capability through a 3rd party app which you can probably get free.

Agreed. A dead customer is not a paying customer. 🙄

So, being a company that sells services, you think they should give you that service for free????

I could see this being eventually a built in feature for phones and at that time I would expect them to be free but at this time its like saying they should give you texting for free since it isn't always convenient to talk on the phone. There is no one forcing people to use their phone while in the car, so it is reasonable to charge for this. I have a feeling that most people that would use this service, (free or payed for,) already do not talk or text in the car and it is just a convenience service to let their friends/family know why they aren't answering. If people do it now, then they probably don't really care about the safety issues that it can cause.
