Why the g2 ooh updates as if they will ever work right unless you root. Better keyboard not! The cliq2 may look odd but it is the best out there. The clip 2 is. a quality phone and with froyo the updates after this will be incremental at best. The clip 2 has a better screen and is solid in call quality and froyo yummyness bar none. The gps locks faster than any android phone ever and turn by turn is flawless, also the graphics in the 1000 mhz ti3620 chip allows for great gaming and video playback let alone the dlna playback. As for the 800mhz g2 not so much. Check out the cliq2 its rock solid in call quality great with blutooth and the speed is great, a real treat and a great keyboard to boot!
the g2 has froyo, tard.. The cliq keyboard looks like it is for 5 year-olds, the next generation 800 MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM7230 runs a crap ton better then most of the 1gb Processors out there, no difference in GPS.., the screen is hardly bigger..., maybe you should read up on the phone.. oh guess what.. no crappy moto blur on the g2, 4 Gigs of internal space, FASTER HIGH SPEED Data 14.4 vs 10, a crap to better keyboard, 720p HD video vs 480... i can keep going.. g2 beats cliq 2 hands DOWN..
I agree with you. I had the G2 and for whatever reason it kept dropping the data signal about three times per day and I had to keep switching it on and off to reconnect. Tmo replaced the G2 and I had the same problem.
The G2 is nice and fast, but there was a pinch of unresponsiveness or lag at times. The G2 was coming up short compared to the MT4G or Cliq 2. The G2 has no front facing camera, has no FM radio and has no DLNA support. The Cliq2 is refreshing to the G2. The screen pops, it has an FM radio and to my surprise I like the Motoblur overlay compared to vanilla.
The G2 is a pretty good device made my a reputable company HTC. Motorola on the other hand offers some great features such and Motoblur which has been a large success on their other android devices.
Someone mentioned the processing speeds, the HTC G2 has the 800Mhz while the Cliq 2 has the 1Ghz. The G2 has a very efficient processor but a 1 gig is almost unneeded but cool to have as more advanced applications are being released.
As far as durability goes, I know the mechanism on the G2 is a little shady in my mind. Many of my co-workers (T-Mobile Employee's) have the G2, when I played with it that was my first concern.
As far as graphics, the cliq has slightly better resolution, but not my much and the HD recording doesn't seem... (continues)
