Samsung: We Are Not Charging Carriers for Android Updates

I find it very interesting that Samsung had to come out and say that they are not charging.
All of a sudden they care what we think?
All the complaining at the lack of updates and it's wait and be patient, it's coming (or screw you pal your behold II ain't getting 2.1) but now all of a sudden they chime in with a "we are not charging".
