According to the leaked memo, if a customer perfoms an ESN change, the feature will get added on.

Does this mean if I have a blackberry tour and then get a Style for cheap on ebay and swap it out (so no in store purchase) the fee will auto ad?

The fee will be required for provisioning as of February 1st. No matter how you get the hardware, when you call to activate it we'll be required to add the Premium Data SOC to your sub before the device can be activated.

Really only the customers that pay 89.99 for their individual plan/169.99 for their shared plan alone OR have been with Sprint for 10+ years can get an annual upgrade.

Good God.

Did you go into Burger King and flip your lid, capslock and all when they upped the cost of a large drink, STEVE2364?

Maybe a bad comparison... how about your cable? Home internet? Landline? I hope to whatever deity you believe in that some poor schmuck in a call center never got a call from you.

Any of the network guys on here will tell you that unlimited is impossible in all reality, this $10 a month is to stave off that reality from happening.

If you think any company is going to give you better customer loyalty than another, you're kidding yourself.

...but please don't expect any type of loyalty. I've been here for eight years and they constantly do things like this. The only good thing (for me) is that I am on a grandfathered rate plan which they have not taken away). All carriers suck. Sprint USED to suck a bit less.

Steve,

I am a premier customer of Sprint. I too have been with them for awhile now. I am NOT a proponent of this rate hike. I think it closes the gap of expensive and more expensive. Since my Wife and I both own 4G phones, we are already shelling out the extra ten. I don't like it. However, I've been on every side from TMO to Verizon. In reality , it doesn't get any better than Sprint. Their CS has improved dramatically and their product selection has increased very nicely. I have service just about everywhere I go and even with the extra 20 my wife and I spend, it still is cheaper than the other big three.

I don't like the increase and I have expressed my concerns to Sprint. However I won't pack up and leave. For the most part, they...

Yes, the fee auto adds with iRMS.

The one way around this (not confirmed, so don't quote me) would be to use the sprint.com/activate, which has helped me on more than one occasion beat the system, even with a restricted employee account.
