It is still the best value, but what is Sprint thinking? This will impact it's users to the point where it may push usersaway in favor of other services who charge a few bucks more. I'm seriously thinking about switching over now, because even though I save a few dollars, this changes things drastically. 10 dollars a line on a five line family line is a huge increase. Sprint, please don't do this, you were just starting to see the daylight.....

Exactly. Also, notice how they first said the fee was for WiMAX devices/connections and now its suddenly become a fee for how much data one uses. Its a bunch of BS for Sprint customers.

Just got off the phone with a customer service rep, he's "not sure" about the changes, but what I'm worried about is my SERO plan, let's hope that's not affected.... Hesse, you had it right with the Premiere upgrades and discounts, let CLEAR pick up the slack and stop punishing loyal customers. The 4G premium data was bad enough, and the thing is 4G isn't EVERYWHERE. Let's take it back to when you started messing up the services when the Samsung Instinct came out. You totally changed the data plans, effectively blocking out all the other sorts of data phones and puttin an end to the 15.00 vision plans we all knew and loved. Yes, you have given us SERO and 69.99 unlimited data, but where's the love? We put up with crappier service, a sometime...

Employee and SERO lines will not be impacted, per the internal memo on the subject.

It DOES NOT represent the best value any longer. T-Mobile's prepaid plans are the most attractive of any of the major 4. There are also those of us in Metro and Cricket markets who have choice.

The sooner the big boys are left on a regular basis, the sooner we'll have a real, competitive market for wireless.

Yeah =T those prepaids rock, if only the phone selection were just a bit better and affordable. Only a matter of time I suppose.

Virgin Mobile's plans are unlimited at $60...and they run on the Sprint network.

This is NOT a good deal for anyone involved.

Yeah but Metro is shady, they tell you unlimited but right now there is a class action lawsuit on them for limiting what sites you can visit. They have some fine print I read at the bottom

The 4G LTE plan at $60 includes unlimited everything. They don't tell you what sites you can visit. The other plans had limits. Right now they're giving you the $60 plan for $50.

Do they not offer unlimited data with their smartphones? I don't know alot about T-Mobile because there is barely any coverage for them where I live. We have Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, U.S. Cellular, and Cricket. I'd never reccomend AT&T. U.S. Cellular is great around here with affordable plans, fast upgrades, and you cant beat free incomming, but outside of the area, almost no coverage. Same with Sprint, but they don't have free incoming. Cricket is a better option than Sprint because of no contracts. Verizon just seems to offer more. While they my be more expensive, they give me what they tell me they will give me and it's worth it. More coverage nationwide. More customers which means more people I can talk to for free. They offer unlimited da...

I hear you Verizon is the Gold standard I agree, but as far as talking to anyone I do that on Sprint with any mobile anytime. I think Verizon or Sprint are good options, I am also curious as to the price plan for the Iphone

I am too, but I don't see any reason why it would be any different than any other smartphone. With it not supporting Flash, it has limited web browsing and thus would seem to less of a data hog than Android phones. Smartphone is Smartphone.

True but I just don't see any reason why they would not have come out and said that already then. If it was going to be the same plan I mean

If it were me, I'd just leave it as smartphones are smartphones, then track the data usage on the iPhone users. if it is more than Android, maybe look at using a different plan, but until they have a 4G iPhone, I don't think it will make a dif.

If you're talking about the new LTE plan they listed, it's not 100% unlimited. It's unlimited "web browsing and youtube" other data is throttled to 1gb (and it's not tethering, as far as everything I've read has pointed to) Additionally, different video sites are blocked on that $50 plan, the only one you can get to is youtube.

I really hope they're just making this for new customers, but still, let's see if they notice any change and get it right again. Probably not. LOL I did see someone say they will raise the rate with an ESN swap? COME ON! WTH! TMOBILE is looking better and better.... (And mind you, I hate TMOBILE)

I have the EVO, and have 4G in my Area (Denver), so I already pay the $10 extra, and I believe blackberry users also pay a $10 fee as well.

I can see though how this would get expensive having 5 lines on an account and adding 50 bucks extra.

I don't think this is a good move for sprint, especially since alot of users are reporting slow 3G speeds as of late.

I agree the increase on a family plan could be expensive but I was just online comparing Verizon pricing and ATT pricing and find it to still be cheaper with comparable plans. I guess that is why we have so many providers, you cannot satisfy everyone all the time

Blackberry users have not previously been required to have this premium add on. Beginning 1/30/11 the $10 Premium Data Add-on, previously charged only on HTC EVO 4G, HTC EVO Shift 4G and Samsung Epic 4G devices, will now apply to activations and upgrades of all smartphones.
