One problem they have right now is that they don't offer any cheap touchscreen phones. It doesn't make any sense because their phones are quite powerful, but the company is too stupid to use their own OS in a fair-priced touchscreen or QWERTY pad.

Look at the stuff sold by Huawei and LG. Those aren't even very good (though the new Huawei Comet has Android) but they are selling.

Samsung, Pantech, and LG all made a bunch of cheapo QWERTY phones. Nokia even made a s60 for a relatively low price.

Marketing is also a weak point. What moron decided that the company should have two names? I liked Ericsson's old products over Sony's, but even I would have the sense to say "let's just call it Sony". The clumsy name isn't a strong selling point for the freebie "buy it without thinking" slot which the carriers want to fill.
