Bloatware Alert

Yes, I'm sure Verizon wants to push more bloatware and update their current bloatware. I'm sure there's not many fixes or updates to the phone(s).

That's the worst part about Verizon, forcing apps and software that people don't want. Wonder how the iPhone will manage?

I can see it now: attention Verizon customers, we will release an iPhone update that will give you VZ Navigator, Twitter, VZ mail, and Bing search! We gave Apple lots of money (and koolaid) to allow us to push our brainwashing bloatware. Have a nice day. And remember you're part of the best, largest, most reliable, fastest and largest 3G/4G, best coverage network! Don't dare leave or you'll drop every call for the rest of your life.

Sounds too close to Noth Korea mindset. 😛

It's not even limited To the US.

The iPhone won't have it because that's part of the deal apple worked out with Verizon. Apple is in a unique position and it has NOTHING to do with the phone's quality or popularity (though they help). Apple will refuse to let anything not made by apple loaded on their devices. This is generally a good thing, but it also comes at a cost (see lack of support for NE2, annual upgrades, shortened return policy).

Please pick up ANY other ATT, Tmobile, Sprint, etc phone and you'll quickly see the bloatware.

I agree, I was just poking fun at the fact that Verizon loves control. It's just more obvious with Verizon. I mean look at their basic phones, it has a Verizon UI. Apple won't let Verizon even discuss it. That's what I like about Apple, they have strict quality control.

No, it's just that Apple is a control freak too, and Steve is more stubborn than Lowell McAdam.

Believe it or not, the average feature phone customer LOVES the fact that they can upgrade phones without having to learn a whole new UI. I set up their new Cosmos touch to look almost exactly like their old phone.

For smartphones, I agree it sucks. Horribly. But at the same time, most customers don't know/care about it, and they want cheap phones.

So you love the fact that apple loves control and hate the fact that verizon loves control?

On a side note, thank god for this update. The fascinate is a good phone but is pretty buggy right now.
