Just a quick clarification

upgrading after 12 months was called an "Annual" upgrade. It was available ONLY to lines that had a VOICE plan of $59.99 or higher.

This means a nationwide plan 900 minutes or higher, or a nationwide talk and text plan.

Non-unlimited texting plans, and data features didn't get you above that threshold.

So 9.99, or basic voice only plans would never get the annual upgrade.

Not so sure Eric cares about getting things right.

This website goes good next to engadget. Phone scoop is simple and clean and easy to maneuver.

Sorry Eric, I didn't know about the contact us option for errors. I'll use that next time.

You did not Eric and that is my point. You change very key wording in the article that made material differences.

Had you simply copied the WSJ article and they got it wrong I would have zero complaints. By making material changes you misrepresent the content of the story.

First:
I'm not exactly sure how WSJ would feel about another news forum copying their words verbatim. It sounds forged if you ask me.

Second:
Editors and writers are subject to make mistakes with amount of news that comes in on a daily basis. There has been a lot of news recently, so I would cut Eric a break here.

Third:
A very large percentage of individuals stopping by to read articles on forums such as this one, are mostly individuals in the wireless business such as yourself. So I would think minimum damage is caused with this minor mistake. It is common for articles to be placed with a retraction later to correct the original.

Fourth:
It appears they do make everything bigger in Texas. I will refrain from my thoughts on t...

You may cite any article you wish so long as you give proper credit. Nothing wrong with that in journalism. Copy and pasting an article without proper citation is plagerism.

And if they post a retraction then great. Eric does not believe what he wrote is inaccurate so I doubt it will be posted.

But seriously. How much damage was done here? You either own or manage your own wireless business. This means you get the proper info right from the source. All you need to care about is giving your customers the right information. What ever appears on forums like this one, I find are for generalization purposes only and cannot be relied totally on facts.

However, I find Phone Scoop to be the most forward and up front with their articles. But I also have found that the WSJ is far from being unbiased. I cannot tell you how many pissing contests me or my colleagues have gotten into with Mr. Mossberg. Frankly, I have lost much respect to their reporting. I'm not saying their reporting is not ever egitimate, I'm saying the way they handle c...

Sorry but I think we will just disagree here. The changes made to the article were not factually correct. I have no idea how many people saw it and now have incorrect information, but if it was just one that is one to many.

The changes made to the article are much more factually correct and actually fix the items that the WSJ got wrong.

Not sure why it is acceptable to be wrong, especially on something like this.

I didn't say it was ok to be wrong, But I think your attack should be made to WSJ which was the main source of Eric's info. Good luck on that one. Let's see if Mr. Mossberg is more cordial to you and if he retracts his staff's reporting.

In all honesty, I would be more worried about how the carrier's change of policy is going to effect your clients decision of signing up rather than PS's article. You have the control and knowledge to give the correct info in the event a customer of yours questions you about the article. You do NOT however, have the control to change the policy.

I don't think the issue here is really the reporting so much as HOW texas responded. People make mistakes. I HOPE that this is not how you respond to all mistakes. It could have been better addressed.

I appreciate your concern on how I respond to things but there is a history here with my polite responses in the past and being told to go fly a kite. When you provide information to show why something is incorrect and you are told to piss off you tend to not care too much about the feelings of the journalist in question.

I have found almost all of your responses pleasant. However, when you deal with age groups averaging 21- 26 years of age, tact tends to get lost and immature posts begin to file in no matter how nice you are.

But in the scope of your initial complaint, you entered the room with a reprimand and a demand of correction in pure sight of everyone one of us to see rather than questioning the validity of the report. At that point, self-appointed dictatorship took the helm of idiocy.

I would use your knowledge as leverage for adding information to reports as opposed to instituting degradation onto valiant efforts.
