Verizon Wireless Officially Ending 'New Every Two' Upgrades

this has been something that has needed to happen years ago .. We are in this current pricing due to the CUSTOMERS that we are. How many people asked " when you getting the iphone .. or whens that new droid phone coming out. all this comes with a cost . Countless times people would be upset due to their 9.99 2nd lines not receiving " my free phone discount " when it never was a true discount ... lets do the math.
if you have a cell line above the set point of 60 bucks a month PER LINE for two years minus the four month upgrade date you would be paying

$ 60 x 20 months + 15% ish your local and state taxes = 1380 dollars

then minus out your new every two .. witch is most likely going to be only $3o dollars due to the change they ma...

Hey Man, Don't Bash Indirect Locations, I work at one and bust my but everyday to give the customer that awesome exsperience that they should have, so don't start the bashing.

There's more to it than just trying to induce people to sign up for expensive rate plans by giving them 'free' phones, the cell phone subsidy is derived from the old landline phone subsidy that I am surprised few people remember. You never used to be able to actually own your home phone, you rented it from the phone company, basically landline service was subsidized as well, in exchange for signing up you get the rights to rent an expensive phone for only a few dollars every month.

And the phones were good too, their frame was made of steel and they could withstand an enormous amount of abuse. I still have my great grandmother's rotary phone from 1954, and it is in excellent condition, and still works. It is certainly a better qual...

Indirects don't always get the New Every Two. This will help those of us in small markets by taking that argument off the table.

I work Indirect as well. I had no issues with getting NE2 credits and never had to have a customer pay a 20.00 upgrade.
