Engadget reported that the buttons on the side of the phone (Volume Buttons, mute switch) are a little lower on the phone due to the antenna's new placement. Cases that expose the volume controls and rocker switch should have no issue with the new placement, but bumper cases that encase the entire phone will not fit.

Hopefully Apple and 3rd party case makers will quickly get these new cases into production.

Right, but you won't get your email and you can't access maps. Though, this is easily fixed with wi-fi...which most people seem to use anyway.

AT&T has had this in lock down since 2007 and at first the iPhone was the undisputed juggernaut, and it was the phone to beat by all companies. Despite limitations, consumers were willing to "put up" with the short comings of this device and "fork out" alot in initial cost of ownership and jacked up prices on data plans simply for the right to own this iconic elitist phone.

Palm was the 1st victim, refusing to change anything until it was too late they wound up selling off the "Treo" name to HTC, pumped out the heaping pile of crap the Palm Centro for a mass appeal PDA with low cost of admission simply to maintain palm on life support to keep some operating capital in the bloodlines. Then laying off over half of their domestic workforce....

It was a really good post. I like that the poster does not attack anyone who chooses an iphone. That's all I have been clamoring for...choice.

If people chose the i-Phone on merits alone, no one would call them out on it. Unfortunately the vast majority of i-Phone users buy it because it's an i-Phone without first examining their needs.

Strange, I'm using my phone for a gps via googlemaps, and I got an email. Just as I reached to look at my email, I got a phone call. I answered said call, and returned to my gps...that's so weird that I did all of that on 3G and not wifi...hmmmmm 😉
