Early Upgrading

Will VZW offer current customers under contract an upgrade path for the iPhone? For example, I know AT&T at least offered slight discount if you were still under contract...I think it was $100 more then the 2yr? I could be wrong on that. Does anyone happen to know anything about it?

Ummmm...I doubt it. It seems Verizon is closing the early upgrade loophole altogether.

No, it's stated in the FAQ on their website. Only people currently elegible for upgrade are permitted to get the subsidized price.

The upgrade ATT offered was for their 2nd and 4th generation devices.

Early upgrades are pretty much gone.

Early iPhone upgrades have been available for the 3G, 3GS and 4. The cost is currently $200 more than the full standard upgrade pricing.

so you're paying $400 for a phone to sign another YEAR contract with the company?

And this is NOT the same as the annual ugrade policy. Annual upgrade was 2 year pricing on a device every 12 months to qualified plans. This meant 199, not 399.

Who knows, that 399 policy might exist for Verizon as well, but that's not the annual upgrade policy verizon's doing away with.
