Verizon is so hypocritical

How does Verizon welcome the Iphone to their network when they've done nothing but blast it for years? This is so stupid. And the media seems to have forgotten "Droid Does" This is why I hate the big cell phone companies. They are all money hoarding hypocrites. Plus, CDMA only. This thing is going to suck.

All of the people posting right now are making me sick of how stupid yall sound. Droid will continue to do and this is the ultimate test to see how DROID can keep up with the Iphone and beat it like it has. ATT has both the iphone and Droid and no one says crap about that huh? You should know your facts before you sound like a hypocrite yourself.

I agree. I think Android is maturing faster than iOS. If I ever get a smart phone again, it will most likely be an Android phone.

You know what makes me sick of how stupid people can sound? It's called Android. Not "Droid". Someone also mentioned on another post, but your hotheaded comment begs it be repeated.
I can tell you a FACT. In my AT&T stores, in the past 6 months, we've sold 2.58 Android phones for every iPhone sold. That's a fact. And yes, I did just pull that report just for you. Now you can sleep tonight knowing you're a special lad. Goodnight, sweet prince.

The Androids that AT&T has are a laughing joke!!!! The Motorola Backflip & Flipout. The Galazy S for AT&T is the closest thing to an attractive Android smartphone, other than that one every other Android on AT&T is a laughing joke!!!

That is why I left AT&T back in March of last year, I wanted a real Android smartphone.

Or maybe you're around the wrong people?

Please tell me any industry that doesn't have bad eggs?

And if businesses have to lie to make sales, it's because that's what consumers demanded.

If you hate the way businesses are, fix consumers. Because a business will do what makes it money, and according to you, consumers are currently rewarding dishonesty. Don't blaime the effect when you know the cause.

There's a map for that didn't bash the iPhone at all, it was purely a comparison of high speed network, which allows one to take advantage of all the capabilities of a smart phone, either droid or iPhone. Now that the iPhone will be on verizon, the things it can do are more widely available, since there's more high speed network coverage area to access.

I don't understand people who get so offended at business decisions. If one does not like something, one does not have to purchase it.

It's not like these companies put a gun(or the proverbial gun by using some other means of "force") to the back of the consumer's head and said, "buy or we'll shoot."

Consumers have more power than they realize.

It's that simple.

I'm excited to see what these cell carrier forums will be arguing about in the future. Att and Verizon will both have very closely the same line up and network capabilities in a couple years. Ok I can't wait any longer. Heres a quick glimpse of the future, but I have to be careful, I don't want to alter anyones future... "My apple is slightly darker than your apple and that makes it better because the commercial told me so! Don't believe me? Slanted market education to show that the iPhone is not the be all and end all of smart phones.

I myself still prefer the Android OS. Only benefit the iPhone OS would give me is the ability to watch certain movies and audio books from iTunes which the lack of such is not a deal breaker for me.

amazonmp3 is DRM free, which is why I use it exclusively now.

But still the fact remains that I have hundreds of dollars in songs that are locked to itunes DRM unless I resort to cracking it (which is still technically illegal) or pay MORE money to get music I already own.

The droid does campaign did point out certain capabilities the iPhone lacked at the time, specifically multi tasking. The newer iOS software update has now added that capability. The same things that droids can do that the iphone can't do, it could be said that all of verizon's non-pda devices also can't do. So was the droid does ad campaign "bashing" regular feature phones? I don't think anyone's ever made that argument. Verizon still sells regular feature phones, so adding the iPhone to the lineup is just that, an addition to give customers more choice.

That being said, I'm not Apple's biggest fan. I don't own any Apple devices, and I've done my best to convince people to choose their carrier first, and device second. I understand that ...

it's not dishonesty. it's called making adjustments based on more information. that's the difference between progressive organizations and stagnant organizations. That's why the NFL is doing so well while the MLB is losing out, because the NFL is progressive and the MLB "sticks with tradition."

I'm pretty sure your beliefs changed as you get older. historically, young liberals become old conservatives as they have more income and have a family to take care of.

I was a VZW rep for 3.5 years and a Sprint rep for 1.5 years. If you have to be dishonest with sales and marketing, then that's wrong. I know with my experience working for each company, we were trained not to be dishonest but to provide pros and cons in order to increase sales. Unfortunately, there are a lot of dishonest sales/marketing people out there, which is why they don't last that long in the industry.

I was honest and I hated selling. The guys who told half truths were the ones praised and rewarded. Our tech training encouraged us to steer people away from concerns rather than address them. It was all about which phones could bring in the most revenue with extra service, not which phone fit the customer's usage patterns best.

Depends on which one you were listening to. Business owners prefer to BS, Verizon prefers you don't. It helps if you know everything about what you are selling so you can drive customers to the proper devices they are looking for.

Do you know how many times I had a customer come in insiting they just needed a "Phone for a phone" and I showed them how a smartphone would make their life better? Quite a few.

Do you know how many customers think I ripped them off? or the number of customers who don't USE the features they're paying for? No one but the oddball here or there who uses the features but wants them for free.

Customers might come into your store wanting the simplest phone possible, and that phone might fit their current usage pattern, but part of my job is to show why they might want to use their phone for MORE. This doesn't make me shady, it makes me damn good at my job, and my customers appreciate it.

so true..cause that way the company earns more..you possible get more commissions, and the customer gets to use his phone for more than just call and text...because thats what tech is for(or atleast most of it), to make our lives better...that doesnt make you evil cause at the end of the day, once you give them a basic phone and they learned from their neighbor that they could actually do something more like say check google for the cheapest price for milk nearby and find out their phone doesnt have it or does it but sucks at it they'll be much more dissappointed.

I agree. Not just dishonesty, but customer service. Small business cares far, far more about customer satisfaction than big business.

One time I ordered pizza from a small neighborhood pizza place, and the order before me was kinda big, and they gave me a free 2ltr of Dr. Pepper for the wait,...and I didn't even complain about the wait neither. Pizza Hut wouldn't do something like that.
