I have been working in Sams Club since 04 took a brief leave to go work for AT&T for about 6 months when i decided to leave because the customer interaction could be less scripted and I wasnt required to meet very high feature standards on phones so i went back to rs, in fact it was usual business to send the typical old person's who didnt want features on their phones to our online site or sams club. Both are good places to shop however to me the atmosphere was just better in sams club. I am currently employed by radioshack in sams club and can say im sad to see an end to this I have a great rep in my club with all my customers and had a great run here. Radioshack is a good company that is overall good to most of its employee's at least myself who has been a long time employee there, but we all knew this would happen sooner or later and its time to move forward. I do have to agree that they will have trouble dealing with both electronic shoppers and phone activations but they know what they are getting into cause they do have phone centers in wal marts, just trying to rule another industry i guess if thats possible. I am wishing good luck to all the employee's who are either losing their jobs or transferring the best of luck and am thankful for the opportunity in the sams club for as long as i had it
Lastly for the training issue it is true we are well trained in sams club just as much so as they are in the corporate stores (having gone through both i would know) it just comes down to individuals some people are a wrong fit and we will get a fair number of those people no matter where we shop or what we are shopping for. Wal Mart employee's wont be nearly as trained however as mentioned before their job is to sell the phone cheaper not show how to use it and send them to another store for the explanation on how to use it but again customers know this. usually before activation.....
