Anybody in Las Vegas?
Anybody in Las Vegas that can give a speedtest result for this HSPA+ 42mb/s network?
...
No, because nobody has an HSPA+42 capable phone. I do know some of the fastest G2 speed tests I have seen are from Vegas, with users getting a steady 7Mbps and peaks higher than that.

Not bad, not bad at all!!! We are finally, finally in some exciting times!

I think that's what he meant; is anyone with a 4G (G2/MT4G which both max at a theoretical 14.4) experiencing a bump in their average speed tests.
I'd also like to know.

I would say the 7Mbs, with peaks over 10Mbs, would be a pretty big bump compared to other markets, where people are getting 2-5Mbs, especially given that real world usually sees about 60% of what the theoretical max is.

I can hit just under 7Mb around the clock when i was in seattle and most of the time in chicago. Using my HD2 and my 3g dell mini 10. I started reaching 7Mb back around august/sept in the west suburbs of chicago.

Chicago is one of the best markets out there, AT&T uses it as its official test market, T-Mobile usually has Chicago as #3 on its list of upgraded cities... the nice thing about Chicago, and anywhere you see super fast speeds like that, is that the towers have great backhaul (the actual data connection to the tower itself).
Even with the software update for 42Mbps on these towers in Vegas, and a phone with that radio band support, you are not likely to see anywhere near those speeds until they get the backhaul updated to support those speeds for multiple users. Vegas likely has some damn fast fiber cable by the bucket load, and newer radio transmitters that support the 42Mbps software update, hence them being "1st" even though it is a mu...

I'll try to provide a speed test when the appropriate handsets are available.
IrishCarBomb sounds like he can provide us with the technical part of whatever questions we may have.
