It's available for the 9330, according to the link attached to the article.

I don't think the 8330 curve could handle such an update.

I think it could. Blackberry OS 6 is based on QNX a port of Unix, Unix is very flexible. However while I believe it can deal with it, I don't think there will be much space left on it unless RIM will allow installing of apps to the SDcard.

Blackberry OS 6 isnt based of QNX! its the same ol OS with an updated communication bar, (more) touch friendly interface and switches to Apples open source WebKit browser instead of the god forbidden browser RIM used in previous OS releases.

RIM's Mike Lazaridis even said in an interview with "all things D" that the BlackBerry Tablet OS (based off of QNX) is only meant for multi-core devices. its BlackBerry Tablet OS can only run on multi-core processors and that there is no possiblity on putting it on Blackberry phones until multi-core processors become available for cellphones.

They did say that QNX could easily be adapted for different devices in the future (not current ones). It should be the direction that they are going to head in the next couple of years. Something has to replace OS 6 eventually.

Rumors have been floating around for 6 months or more that the next BB Storm would have a separate OS (presumably QNX) and would be one of the early LTE offerings by Verizon.

so until they make a multi-core chip that can stand up to RIM's battery usage requirements QNX is not going to happen. For more proof just look at how long it took RIM to make a 3G blackberry for AT&T/Tmobile.
