I agree on most of those points. I'm not sure about Sprint's footprint. Verizon Wireless launched LTE in more than 30 huge markets, with more to come very soon. I'll let the carriers sort out who covers the most potential customers.

Otherwise, everything else you said sounds right.

Not sure where you get your false information from but let me learn ya. Sprint Covers a 120 mill pop while Verizon Covers 110 mill pop. (this is all estimated claims by each company)

Sprint welcomes Los Angeles, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Miami and Washington DC to the 4G family.
With new 4G markets launching on 11/28, this brings our total to 68 markets. See sprint.com/4G for details.
Sprint 4G is available in over 60 markets and counting. See sprint.com/4G for details.
These six new markets are now a part of the 4G family and can start experiencing fast 4G speeds.
Sprint 4G enables fast mobile downloads, video chat and a range of innovative and useful wireless applications,.
With the launch of the first dual-mode 3G and ...

Not sure about your numbers but if they are correct it seems that Verizon has accomplished in a few months what it has taken Sprint since late 2008 to accomplish.

Verizon has had the same amount of time as Sprint. Plain and simple the race started at the same time verizon believes itself to be the rabbit so Sprint the turtle began rolling out Wimax coverage in small increments while verizon was taking a nap waiting for Lte. Sprint could have done what verizon did and work on coverage in the 68 markets and then unveiled it on dec 1st officially like big red and still have more coverage then Verizon. On top of that verizon is using airports to exaggerate there pops Sprint is not and they cover just as many. Bottom line at the end of the day Sprint cost less and has more coverage and we all know the turtle won the race 😎

That's assuming the race ended today. Pretty sure it's still going on though.

Travel 20 miles out of the center of most wimax zones and you'll lose coverage. The same goes for LTe. The race is far from over.

And most LTE towers went up in the past few months. They haven't been building out since 2008.

As for pops, the 100 million number doesn't include airports. It's 38+ markets, covering 100 million pops and an additional 60 airports.

I've posted links before, you've ignored them, or found some stupid way to say they didn't matter.

I didn't post "proof" because I had assumed you'd read tech news in the past few months. It's all over the place. Here's just one example:

Verizon covers 100 million people with 38 markets:

You can also see their official press release or ANY news release/blog post that's talking about it. They don't have as many markets, but all of their markets (except Purdue campus) are high pop cities. They also plan to have exceede their 3g coverage with LTE by the end of 2013. Again, from their roadmaps.

Can you direct me to Clear's roadmap?

You haven't posted any links showing th...

No currently the WiMax network covers 103 million. And every quote I've seen shows 110 million with the 60 airports.

To what "false information" are you referring? I clearly said I was not sure. I estimated Verizon's coverage footprint. I made no claims about actual coverage numbers.

You need to improve your reading and comprehension skills. This article clearly states that VERIZON is #1.

Well, first of all, this article clearly states that Verizon Wireless produced the fastest results in my speed tests. Verizon was consistently the fastest in upload and download speeds.

Second, I think my conclusion in The $$$ section was fairly mixed. I think Verizon offers a fine deal, and a solid price per/GB, but Sprint and Clear offer the best value of all the carriers overall.

Third, my response in this thread had to do with the number of customers covered by a given carrier. I make no claims in the article that any carrier covers more people than any other. I reiterate that here in the thread. I never said Verizon is #1 in terms of potential LTE coverage. It was beyond the scope of my testing to make such judgments.

Thanks...
