Finally!
I cant wait to get my hands on 2.3 for my droid! No matter how old my Droid is, it is still a great phone and running at 1.2ghz, makes it feel smooth. Did you hear that 18% of Android traffic are from the Motorola Droid?

I LUB IT!!! cant wait!!!!

typical verizon mumbo jumbo. just like a customer I had the other day that said verizon told them they couldnt port their number out due to an overdue bill and yet we ported it out with ease... ๐

What does that have to do with 2.3?

I am rooted, as long as the software is out it can be made to work on the DROID. I do not have time to waste on updates, I feel that rooting gives me the full power for my phone. I kid not when I say my phone runs as smooth as a galaxy s or a incredible or what ever.

You are not waiting for google to send out the update, you are waiting for Samsung to send out the update to their devices. Samsung is very slow with that process for some reason.

Samsung and the carrier are both involved in the delay, aren't they?
Samsung because they want to make the user interface "better" and the carrier to add their bloatware and try to block things like side-loading and tethering. At least that's true for my Captivate on AT&T.
I've rooted my phone, but haven't ventured into installing custom roms. But seeing Gingerbread out when I don't even have Froyo yet is extremely annoying, so I may have to try that route.

I was told by a samsung representative that the fascinate would not be getting 2.2 because they were unhappy with the way it ran and were waiting for droid to release 2.3 so waiting for 2.2 had nothing to do with delays it's simply that they didn't want it on their phone
