Come on RIM, you still put that radio crap of EDGE into your already outdated phones and keep on remaking each single model out there by branding them as "NEW" and just adding one or two little things.

Original iPhone - iPhone 3G
added 3G ability, completely casing, more space, went from

iPhone 3G - iPhone 3GS
much more faster (more ram and GB space, 32GB option available than the previous 2 models, 3MP camera

iPhone 3GS - iPhone 4
front facing camera + video calling, completely new redesign of the phone, amazing screen, great back camera+ Flash LED, support for N routers now, 720P HD recording. improved accelerometer, improved battery life. I'm sure there are more as well, going off phone scoop specs.

I'd say iPhone 4 took a huge leap out of all of them..
now blackberry..it's basically the same phone, please go check out the phones that release in sequence, and see how many look exactly like each other, and have all basical...

I will say though that the first iterations of the iPhone were not major changes, compared to the iPhone 4 is the most changed and altered iPhone. The same cannot be said about Blackberry. Check out their phones page and look over their phones, you will see ( I hope you see ) that they basically give the phone a new name, and call it new, but its the same old blackberry from 2 years ago.

so because it adds more ram it is unlike any other blackberry?
do the compare side by side, literally the same phone. the tour doesn't offer Wifi.

If you say that is a major plus for blackberry because it added more ram to one of their devices, then your complaint about iPhones is invalid.

To be a bit more specific, I would say the "Curve" series has been relatively close throughout the years. But I also agree that the iphone is right there with the curve. I will credit the iphone on having more advanced features than the Curve. BUT Same old curve, same old iphone.

The torch falls short on processor speed and screen resolution compared to most smartphones released nowadays! Its actually pretty bad IMO.

Although I agree there was not much improvement between the 3G and 3GS iPhones.. the same cant be said for the iPhone 4..

The iPhone 4 is a huge upgrade over all previous iPhone models..

Some notable mentions:

1Ghz processor (not found on any other model)

326ppi pixel density (retina display/highest res on any phone)

Physically bigger battery (longer lasting)

Slimmer phone (slimmest smartphone)

More RAM

LED flash Higher res camera + HD Video

Front facing camera

These are just some but I think by any measure these are huge improvements..

I know. It's just more, and more, and more of the same from RIM.

When I read headlines on Phone Scoop introducing so called "new" smartphones from RIM, I just think to myself "blah, blah, blah, just more of the same.
