I noticed Charlotte was the only city that has the state it is in referenced in the post. The reason why I point this out is I read a Charlottean (sp.) complain about this one time and then soon after started noticing it in articles. It is funny because I have visited Charlotte and it is a large metro area and I don't know of a different Charlotte in another state that is anywhere near the size. I can't figure out why people do this.

I believe there is one in West Virginia and one in Florida.

Small towns, really, but hey, you wouldn't want one of THEIR residents getting confused.

I hear you. Funny thing is there are Clevelands and Dalli in multiple states. There has to be something more to it.

Not to mention Dallas, Springfield, Albany, and Milwaukee, Oregon. All are major metropolitan areas populated by lots of cows, loggers and sheep.

Ancestors should've had more imagination when naming towns.

Like Santa Claus, IN.
