Plug the phone up to the computer using the supplied cable, then go to tools>mass storage>connect to pc, then the phone will act like a mass storage device and you have access to your picture folder(dcim) and your media and music folder. You can then send what ever jpeg you want into the dcim folder, then on the phone find it and set it as a screen saver. I have a picture of MeetWad on mine right now.

That's right. And, I can send pictures from my A900, to the computer.....via Bluetooth.

However, the A900 does have trouble transferring pictures between other phones. I have received a picture from a Nokia N90 and Samsung T809, via Bluetooth....but what happens is: The image gets stuck in the vCard folder, on the phone. I had to plug in the USB Cable, view Hidden Folders, and grab the image out of the vCard folder (within the Bluetooth Folder).

Pocket PC Phones are the only phones that can receive pics from the A900 (in my experience).

for both usb and bluetooth we followed exactly the steps outlined in these two posts. however the owner rights on our A900 when in mass storage mode were set to "read only," there was no option to change this on the phone and it couldn't be changed on our computer.

sending or receiving pictures via bluetooth totally failed even when trying to transfer between paired devices. (and pairing was not exactly easy. our A900 would only pair with another device from the home screen. not even from the bluetooth options menu.)

Mine lets me transfer files all the time with bluetooth. Under settings>bluetooth you can set the exchange folder to media or pictures or music, and ive taken ring tones off a sony erricson and put them in the media folder with bluetooth. Of course you cant use them as ringtones, but i could play them as a music file...

if you haven't, go to www.samsungwireless.com/a900download
this is supposedly the most current driver from samsung, and addresses this issue. (as the samsung rep tells me)

BTW, what computer are you connecting it to (OS version, brand, etc)?

Is there anything special that you do? I have tried with both an A900 and an A920, and they will actually go through with the transfer, and once it's done, it just goes to the home screen. The file that supposedly gets transferred just dissappears into thin air....

To be fair, though, I have only tried it with a few Motorola handsets - a ROKR, a SLVR, and a RAZR. I can transfer files between the three fine, but the Samsungs want nothing to do with the Motos.

even though i tried multiple times, all these members were making me think i was crazy.

and for the record, i'm using a mac with tiger, and the mac's bluetooth file exchange app (which does not have drivers for any phone, it only works if the phone supports standard protocols).

i've talked to windows users who have had the same experience as me both with bluetooth and usb file transfer, however, so i did not feel i was in error reporting that weakness.
