While these rate plans are a little bit cheaper, it makes absolutely no sense to the customer that they cannot get a new handset for a free or discounted rate.

You have no idea how many Even More Plus customers have told me they are switching to someone else because, even though their plan is cheaper with us, they are getting a free phone from carrier x.

The "buy phone full price, save money on your monthly rates" module has officially been tried by a major carrier and doesn't work.

It would work a lot better if it was "Bring your own phone, get $10 off ANY PLAN - NO CONTRACTS REQUIRED"

Simple.

Yup. It is still available in stores, and it was/is a good plan for certain customers. But you are absolutely right, most customers simply do understand how the plan works. I disagree that customers should get a discount on this plan. That's why its no-contract. No contract, no discount. Simple.
The simple truth is that most customers are simply too short-sighted or too stupid to get how this works. Maybe T-Mo gives its customers too much credit.

The root of the issue with customers on evenmore+ wanting upgrades is that they see other customers intitled to a new phone discount but they are not. Then they feal cheated, and in their anger move to another provider. The plan details were never properly explained which might have lead to the confusion. Most customers want "simple".

While I think both options should be offered as was prior to Sunday. In all reality, if at present one bought something like a G2 with subsidy it would be cheaper to take it, and if need term and pay the etf. See the monthly cost is the same as if you bought the phone outright. I know many including myself (mostly) would prefer to be contract free, the math at present makes it worthwhile to sign.

The plans get explained properly most of the time. People are just too stupid to understand what "no phone discounts" means.

Please. Did they really think they were getting the plan cheaper just because they were special? Oh wait... I did make ALL my customers think that they were. I guess I can see it...

Glad to hear the plans are still available. I did the math and there was no question it was a better deal than a subsidized phone. Plus no waiting 18 months for the next upgrade subsidy. I've had some success explaining it to people, but I don't work for t-mobile so I don't have to be successful at it.

It doesn't work here because only one carrier offers it and that carrier happens to be a smaller one. Now if ALL the carriers were to collude with one another...

I know, I know THAT would never happen. Verizon or AT&T would pull a double cross at the last minute like VZW did with LNP.
