Nokia Will Stand by Symbian
Nokia is Beating a Dead Horse...
Other devices i have read that issue on; 5800, N95, e71, e71x, e62, n93... So it wasn't my phone it is the Operating system. There is no reason to keep this OS going, just admit loss and move on to smaller (because Symbian was nothing but bloatware) and better things
(Low RAM, on the other hand, is.)
However, I have to disagree with the part about poor battery life/performance. For a normal push button phone platform, symbian works great. The n75 was a poor model. The n95/n85/n82 were mostly pretty stable (and had nice goodies like wifi, built in gps & downloadable maps, 5.0 megapixel cameras. All these models had great battery life ( i used all for a few months).
That said, Symbian is HUGE in Europe and elsewhere, and just because you can't effectively multitask doesn't mean that it reflects poorly on the OS. Why don't YOU kill some apps if you need to rather than have Android spoonfeed you with its autokill?
Also, the N900 IS a great phone. I'm a proud owner of one. Is it meant for the mass market? Surely not, but that doesn't preclude it from being a great phone. The power of this phone is unparalleled and the potential is near limitless.
