AT&T did NOT say:

"We're going to file a lawsuit for falsely claiming you have a 4G network."

+1 for T-mobile.

No one has a 4G TRU 100Mb Network as defined by the ITU.

true, and i totally agree with you but that did not stop sprint and metro. and im sure it wont stop vzw and att from calling it "4G" even though their speeds are from the mark needed to call it so. its kind of a dead horse dude. let it go.

Calling it 4G because it uses an OFDM technology is what is happening. Both LTE and WIMAX use OFDM while T-Mobile's HSPA+ is a CDMA product.
802.16M which will begin deploying next year will allow for 180mhz downloads in a 20mhz wide channel. Next year Clear/Sprint will be able to meet all of the criteria.

Well more likely Sprint, I don't think Clear has much longer to go as an independent or autonomous company.

Actually, both LTE and WiMax are considered "4G"...

yeah, but why *would* AT&T sue? Its much easier for them to deploy lots more HSPA+ and optimize it for higher speeds than it is so build out LTE (like they were planning to do).

It lets them get more mileage out of their 3G network.

In all reality, who gives a crap, if it gets both of them to deploy hspa+ and or LTE faster its a win win for all customers. All this is just posturing, on both AT&T's and TMO's part, and they're both wrong.
