I was rooting for them too but this is a FAIL.

Smaller screen (subjective but most are calling it a bigger phone)
No WiMAX
High Price

FAIL FAIL FAIL!!!!

They really had an opportunity here to give Apple a run for it's money but once again Samsuck comes up short.

What should have happened was Amazon getting together with a company like HTC and creating a Kindle Pad along with an 9" AMOLED screen, FFC, kickstand, Android 2.2, WiMAX and all the goodies. Once again due to ignorance and arrogance they missed a golden opportunity.

Apple may be hated and their products may be overrated but one thing they do know is what people want.

I wouldn't go so far as to say Apple got it right simply because Samsung got it wrong.

I'd say Apple got it right by selling millions of them.

Got it right in terms in marketing. Not hardware. Apple has always been good at that. But is it a worthwhile device? Not without a camera, Adobe Flash support, USB, HDMI and microSD ports it isn't.

But it doesn't matter because the sheep already drank all the kool-aid. They'll buy anything with an Apple logo no matter what they charge. Apple could have charged $2,000 and people would have bought it. Why do think AT&T can get away with their stingy $30/mo 2GB internet plan? Because they can. If I were AT&T I'd charge iPhone users $50/mo for 1GB! Milk the sheep for all they can!! I hope Verizon does that

I know 10 people with ipads. Most of them are diehard apple fans.

Of those ten people, only 3 of them really use the ipad for anything more than every once and awhile.

They've sold a lot of them, but I think it will end up like the Wii.

A great marketed product, millions sold, but a lot of them rarely brought out.

About 4 months ago the only people I saw with iPads were diehard Apple people.

Now I see them everywhere. I go into a coffee shop, I'll see a few old people playing Scrabble on one together.

Yesterday I went to a trade group show and about 1 out of 4 people were using iPads to showcase products and sign up new customers. I couldn't believe it.

We now have more iPad customers than Android customers.

It's not a novelty anymore at all.

What the hell did you expect at an AT&T trade group show? 😲

It wasn't an AT&T trade show.

Still, Apple didn't get it right because Samsung got it wrong.
