Video chatting with your entire contact list while simultaneously providing the wi-fi hotspot for an ongoing 10 screen halo tournament and downloading the entire internet.

haha idk man i want fast but at what point does the internet go to fast for the phone? i mean, the phone still has to process the data no?

Right. There is really no need for speed faster than what the phone can process. Now if its running a hotspot or something like that, then it would be suffice. The major carriers that are rolling out these broadband networks are looking more toward mobile Internet for laptops and home networks. Take Tmo for instance. They have the largest and fastest HSPA+ network in the US and it can reach theoretical speeds of 21mbps. According to recent information, they are planning to roll-out 42mbps across the country. Now the devices that come along with receiving those speeds???

thats what i thought, i like to think i know a good amount about phones but i didnt think we had phones that would actually benefit from outrageous speeds like that, yet.

To be honest its no so much for the phone, but wireless broadband. That is where its at. True after a certain speed for a phone, anything faster is really just a waste.

Whatever speed it takes for high quality video to load WITHOUT having to stop to buffer, that's the speed I want.

Or to download a 5mb song in under 30 seconds!

Probably, yeah. But it's important that the 10-12 is consistent, and not some stupid burst speeds.

Yeah but Verizon hasn't announced their rate plans yet. It'll probably be a stingy amount of data that will prohibit watching Hulu, and lots, and lots of video.

Last December I had Clear, and I used 30-35gb's/mo, watching Hulu, porn, and news videos.

Yeah, that was on a laptop. But I don't have Clear anymore.
I don't have cable tv nor home internet, so my Motorola Droid is everything to me, my radio, my main source for news, web browsing.

It is senseless to continue to build their WiMax network then test LTE network. I am confused

its not senseless, it was a stradegy... LTE wasnt available till fall 2010 commercially so wimax was launched for now as a 4g option till LTE was available, which is why they bought dual mode towers... it was thier plan all along to software change it when LTE is officially allowed.

more or less, since we cant give LTE till 2011, well give a different 4g till 2011 which is wimax and its readily available
