Samsung Galaxy Tab Lands at Verizon Nov. 11 for $600
positioning itself...
Especially with the better layout of the X and nearly identical specs other than screen size.
If your going to get a tablet, why would you buy one roughly the size of your smartphone anyway?
And on top of that, are any applications on Android optimized for a tablet form yet? Is the OS, or even the skin adequately optimized for a tablet form? I'm thinking probably not, hence the smaller screen size than normal for a tablet.
Who knows. I'm still interested, just doubtful that it will be a huge success.
Froyo isn't optimized for tablets, but samsung spent some time reworking several key apps (email, calendar, etc) to make sure they looked decent. Gingerbread should be the tablet OS, or at least more tablet friendly.
They actually went with the 7 inch because it's pretty much the biggest you can make a screen and still comfortably hold it in one hand.
2) Who knows why they chose 7 inches. The iPad's screen size is about perfect- it doesn't feel like a 'portable-ized' device, but rather the best internet experience. I don't believe that's true for a 7 inch tablet.
Finally, it's Samsung. They can't even get the Galaxy phones to work right.

dude are u serious maybe the phone for verizon but the vibrant for tmobile is amazing and a half
Don't pay blue any attention. She just likes to act like she knows what she's talking about.
The Vibrant is perfectly fine. After the recent update I no longer have any problems with GPS and it's a solid handset. Great battery life, beautiful screen, fast. Froyo is gonna make it even better.
2) seven inches will be a lot more portable. I've used an ipad on and off for a few weeks thanks toa friend. It's a nice device, but it's way too large to comfortably use unless you're sitting down and have something to prop it against.
But honestly, you looking a Galaxy S (phone)droid X, or an EVO in the face sitting right next to a Galaxy Tab... Which one are you going to purchase.
In fact, if you already own an Android phone, especially one of the afore-mentioned, what would be the advantage of a Galaxy tab?
I meant HD as in capable of using more of the screen space (see samsung's calendar app compared to stock one) As for copying apple, Gameloft already puts HD after their game titles for android devices.
Apparently games like angry birds already look great on it, I think the real boon will be for productivity apps. I REALLY can't wait to see what LauncherPro and ADW do with a larger screen (Not to mention Cyanogen)
