I don't know why they even bother release a device with this price. I would pick an ipad instead.

It's only 100 dollars more than the 16 GB iPad, and about the same price as the 32 GB iPad.

Tablets in general tend to be pretty pricey.

Yea, $100 more for a smaller screen and will most likely be locked in a 2yr contract + monthly data plan.

Must not have read around yet but the $599 price is unsubsidized so no contract is required. Practically pre-paid data with built in 3G vs ipad with the mifi so you gotta carry around 2 devices to get on the web. The Tab has LOTS more features including 2 camera 3mp front/5mp back, video recording/calling, HD playback supporting Divx/Xvid and HDMI out with dock accessory, expandable memory, bluetooth 3.0 and DLNA for multimedia streaming to DLNA compatible devices along with txt, pix, flix messaging! He** of a lot more features than any of the iPads.

The iPad doesn't have a camera. It does have more battery life, a significantly larger screen, and Airplay.

Oh, it has some 30,000 apps, many of which are downright amazing. The Galaxy tab has zero at the time being, and most are expected to be "not pretty" to quote Samsung.

And there is always a loser that will pay out of their bunghole just to have it.
Might as well get an "I-diot-phone" with a toilet paper dispenser app...... 🤣

Good point jb, but carrying a mifi device has its merits, more then one device can use it, you can also use it for you laptop, or home computer if your regular service goes down. I own the VM Mifi, its small and not a problem whatsoever to carry around.

Maybe this will get a hotspot app?

Since data is tiered, I could see it happening.
