Coniving? No one is tricking anyone into talking 3x their normal amount in a month. No one's forcing someone to call their home country and talk for hours without thinking their National plan might not cover International usage. No one's saying "You should add a PPU option for data and text and then send thousands of KB or messages in usage, you'll be OK."

Usually your opinions are right on the money but I think you're looking at this wrong. This is for the people who have a 450 min plan and consistantly use several hundred minutes over, because at some point they had Rollover and NEVER bothered to check their actual usage. (This is what I see EVERY DAY w/AT&T customers.)

Right, his sarcasm was aimed to point out that it should be the providers responsibility to hold the customer's hand through their usage overages and make sure that customer's dont go over their obviously marked out, and already retardedly easy to check amounts for useage.

for the idiots...not consumers...the idiots who go "well i didn't know i needed a data plan, how was i supposed to know my bill would be $950?" yes i agree, those people dont need phones period. they need a class funded by their own money. i'm talkin about if you have lets say an iphone and you have that 2GB joke of a data plan with or without tether option and obviously at&t does not want you to go over 2GB...(cough! cough!) so they can bill you at $15 per GB and make at&t richer. you need a notification system. yes i know they now have tools and notification. but everyone should have that. does anyone here HONESTLY keep track of daily data usage? i sure as hell don't but I don't have a gigantic phone bill nor do I call t-mobile care and wh...

geeksarebest...i understand what you're saying but companies need to be responsible too. even if the customer is an idiot and can not keep track of his or her usage. he or she will get angry enough and leave due to frustration with company X which as well all know is called what? churrrrrnnnn! say it with me kids! churn! 😛 if company X was smart, they would put this stuff in place to keep joe blow happy and service active. that's smart business

I'd rather have smart customer's who know what they're doing or have the capacity for intelligence that god gave a brick (at the very least, which is still more than most have.) than flocks of r-tards that need their butts wiped when they make a mess.

lol...i know man but we cant chose customers. i look at it as they put food on my kids' table. if some tiny software to keep service alive will make them happy. so be it. you cant get money out of a suspended account when someone is angry. they just go else where and let that sit on their credit for several years just to spite the company. keep customers happy and service active. some customers are dumb enough to walk into a tmobile store with a verizon phone and ask for repair, we cant keep them out but we can try to sell them a tmobile plan

Then providers don't need the Feds to tell them what to do since anyone running a business wants to avoid churn. Tell me again why Big Brother is interfering then?

LIke portability, this will become another Federal Govt mandate that will show up as a tax along with about 11 other items to cover the cost of implementing this. Count on it.

Still not very funny. There are tools in place which allow consumers to check their usage already. It is always someone else's fault in this country. When are we going to take responsibility for our own actions?

for everyone of you who stated that stupid quote in regards to THIS news item "when are people gonna take responsibility for themselves" lets go to each of your houses and rip off your utility meters from the wall or post...then you cant whine when the water department sends you a bill for $1,124.80...remember, it's YOUR JOB to see how much you're using. why not remove the speedometer from your cars...its YOUR JOB to know how fast you're going. How about this, we get rid of all street signs/traffic lights and markers as well as medians on the major freeways. it's YOUR JOB to look out for other cars and to know where everthing is and to make sure you don't play Twisted Metal in your local neighborhoods. remember to do your math and stay off ...

Hmmmm, you can check your minutes/usage from your phone. From your computer. From customer care. From a retail location. From an indirect dealer. From a bill that's sent out. Yet that's not enough???

If i'm speeding in my car, I don't get a text message or alert saying that I'm speeding. So that was a horrible comparison
