Verizon Not Interested in Clearwire Spectrum

So Bloomberg decided to lie to everyone?

By saying VZW is part of the auction? Who do they think they are, Lookout? Why would they do this?

When no one is giving any straight answers, you have to run with what you've got or get bested by the bloggers who will scoop the story first.

It's likely that all the had was a source saying Verizon, AT&T and T-mobile were invited to the classy meeting to discuss the auction. Their source may have had no knowledge of Verizon refusing to attend the meeting, or Verizon may have been interested and actually participated in the first few rounds of bidding before dropping out and then releasing such a broad statement as they have.

What the Verizon rep said was, ""We're not participating in the Clearwire auction."

The did NOT say, "We know nothing of a Clearwire spectrum auction" or "we did not participate in the Clearwire."
