Why would I want a MiFi in a tablet?

MiFi is for connecting your wireless devices to the internet right? Let's see, I won't be caring a laptop around because I have my tablet, I won't have/need an iTouch because I have a tablet. The list goes on, and other then maybe connecting 2 tablets to each other to transfer info or for gaming (I wonder if that would count as data on a cell tower), I really don't see the point in wanting to carry and connect another device to the internet.

How else would you connect a data card to the IPad? By USB? Good luck on finding one of those on the IPad. The only way is to connect the IPad to a WiFi connection hince the reason for the bundling of the MiFi.

What does that have to do with having a MiFi in your tablet vs an aircard in your tablet? My point to the question is why would you need to connect something else to the internet when you could connect your tablet?

Unless it's just Verizon's way of trying to 1up AT&T.

MiFi is a separate device and it will allow you to connect to the internet wirelessly anywere. The MiFi unit will also let you connect up to 5 devices to the internet. So, for example you are on a road trip and you have the iPad, your wife has her net book and your child has his Nintendo DSi everyone is happily connected to the internet because Verizon provided the MiFi in the bundle.

I'll take fast 3g over verizon's weak excuse for 3g speed anyday. I don't care how large they say their footprint is.

Yes. Wireless devices such as the iPad.

The MiFi is for connecting the iPad to the Internet. There's no other way for an iPad to use Verizon's 3G network.
