"i regret that i renewed ATT contract for another 2 years last month!"

That literally makes absolutely no sense, If you just upgraded then you are not in the market for a new phone, so why do you care?

not to start flames but dude its at&t...need i say more? their only life support is the iphone. they got the app for uverse and its not good enough that you're already paying for at&t wireless, uverse internet & tv and some have uverse home phone, they also want you to pay an additional $10/month for the privelage to link your iphone and uverse DVR so you can watch shows on the go. tmobile is done being made fun of if you ask me, so now DT is investing big money into tmobile usa to make it more appealing for consumers of personal and business with more sophisticated devices and services like tmobile tv and so on. yes i know sprint and vzw already had phone tv as i call it but still. i think tmobile is going a different avenue to peddle this ...

AT&T became the #1 carrier in the US in third quarter 2003, that's 3 years BEFORE the iPhone...

So, no, it's not even remotely true that the iPhone is the only thing keeping the network afloat

Don't give me this nonsense about how a phone that is used by less than 10% of at&t customers is the only keeping it afloat.

Uhh... yea.... ATT/Cingular/SBC/etc. MERGER is what made them big in 2003. Something else to keep in mind, in 2003 data usage was not even a concept for most people... Texting had just started to gain momentum. Once data came to rule, ATT fell off that #1 throne. Sure, theyre still number 2, but dont be fooled by that 10% figure they throw out... its closer to 40% and growing every day. And the true test will come in '12 when the iPhone is free reign for every carrier. Thats when we will all see if ATT sinks or swims on its own.

SInks or swim, against whom? Their only real competitor is VZW, and they think the same. Who knows what or when someone else would get a new iPhone, strong rumors like January for VZW. and who knows Sprint. I for one hope everyone gets it. If you think that hordes of people are going to port out of AT&T and VZW for TMO, you must have had one real bad anoxic event during birth. (see, I didn't call him a retard.)

I do agree, I'm not impressed with what the WP7 stable AT&T is starting out with. And supposingly this new OS was going to be their bitch at start.

Hey Nimrod!
AT&T was AT&T wireless in 3rd quarter 2003!!!!!
That was before the merge with Cingular!!!
#1 carrier is marked by quantity of subscribers not the quality.
If you want to go with quality, do some real research and see what you come up with.

Windows 'phone' is Windows 'phone' - it all looks pretty boring (doesn't even look like a smart phone - but just a media device).
Yuck - large ugly icons for a home screen - and plugs all Microsoft software - Xbox / MS-Office.
Even Apple has some openness compared to this.
