GHz wars again?

Is it me or are we getting into the mobile version of the MHz(i guess now GHz) wars again?

I just hope we start seeing i7 and sli graphics chips on mobile phones hahaha

It's bound to happen, it was only a matter of time. 🙂

Just look at the desktop processor evolutions many years ago. The history is repeating again, and quite predictable too.

We will soon hit the age where we will talk about "not all GHz are equal" as more manufacturers take different approaches in building their CPUs.

In fact, to certain extent, it has started already. 1.2GHz OMAP 3 processor is not faster than 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8255(that's the 2nd generation one) or 1GHz Hummingbird. OMAP4 will beat both of these at 1GHz, etc.

1.2GHz Droid 2 "World Edition" as the site calls it, isn't competitive to 1.0GHz HTC Desire HD which is 1GHz. But it is very competitive again...
