With LTE coming this is right in step with what will work in the real world for consumers.

i think there is no need to carry a camera now..my hd2 takes better pictures then my friends digital cameras that have 12 megapixel. i think a 16 mg is just goin to drive the price up to high for that phone

I don't care much about MP more than I care about the clarity of the lense being used... I've seen crappy photos with 8 MP cameras because the lense is trashy.

i doubt it will make it that much more expensive. the hardware itself is only $30 for the sensor... that's not including the discount for buying in bulk.

A perfect example is the camera sensor in the iPhone4 costs ~$14. A manufacturer would be able to hike the price up ridiculously for a small investment per device. the only thing holding these back is the software and picture compression on the device side.

LTE is a must if 16MP pics are going to be sent via mms.

Jeez, I bought a 7MP camera for $100...two years later it is being more than doubled by a damn phone...smh... 🙄
