Consumers should know when they're being fleeced and be smart enough to avoid it. More legislation is NOT the answer. Metro PCS will let you activate between 2 and 5 lines for $35 out the door each. Wal-Mart has an all you can use prepaid service. Boost has all you can use for $50.

Hey put in bank overdraft alerts too, cause if I can't seem to keep track of my minutes just imagine what my bank statement looks like. Also car payments, electric, water, toilet paper, and a law that mandates I need to take a shower and brush my teeth at least every two days. I also need text alerts to remind me to breathe. I hate to say it, but we american consumers as a whole, are that stupid where we do need a bill like this to help us sleep better at night. Maybe not you reading this. You read over whats in your plan and whats not. You asked the right questions and did your own research. You check online to make sure you know what your account looks like. Good for you. But majority of consumers do not. Also, there are sales agents that will say anything to the dumb ones just to make that sale.

the sales people. any salesmen worth his salt will get someone to sign before the customer realizes what even just happened so they can get the next sap to their kiosk and do the same thing. but if consumers we properly educated then there would be less and less of these types of "interventions" needed.
how do the customers get educated? use the technoloy and limitless info at your fingertips and make it happen.

False. A salesman worth his salt can get you to buy without bamboozling you. It's the craptastic ones that are uninformed as to the correct information and the liars that continue to give good ones a bad name. I've been in electronics retail for about 10 years, and the best salespeople, the ones who actually get promoted and make consistently good money are the honest ones.
