haha more blackberry trahs talking.

idk but if somebody wanted a smart phone that focused more on usability, efficiency, and quality i'd go with blackberry.

the only thing android and iphone does better than a blackberry is web browsing. that's it.

blackberries are like the nextel of pda phones. theyre the phones for people who want to get things done; not play games on their phones.

blackberry email is unmatched. security is unmatched for those who need the high level of encryption, and blackberry devices are far better for messaging then anythign else out there.

idk about you but isn't that what cell phones are for... communication? blackberries are the best at it.

Amen to that. With the new software coming next year (O6 is just a bridge to get there; the OS on the BB tablet will preview what's going to migrate to their phones) BB could be poised for a (painfully) slow comeback except for one thing in my personal experience: build quality. My wife and I have had quite a few BB's and it's a hit-and-miss frankly. Until they address this their just going to be second rate imo. Still, for all the reasons you list, you're right, they are the best at what they do.

Blackberries are absolutely horrible on all of those fronts, it's almost like your reading off of RIMS marketing bullet-points, lol.

Messaging? really? Both Apple and Google are better at that!

Usability? are you kidding me? You need a half-hour course to change the ring tone!

Blackberry customer satisfaction is among the absolute lowest of ANY manufacturer.

You're right about RIM being the same as nextel though... horrible service, dying company etc...

I just want this particular phone but the new os 6 does look easier hopefully to use and is more socially oriented as well.

I usually agree with most of your posts but not on this one. Blackberries push email is excellent and gmail isn't better. The speakerphone on blackberries are better than most other phones. The security is a huge factor. Do you remember that phonescoop article that said an app that was downloaded from android sent over 1 million peoples IMEI and SIM card numbers to some foreign company? I've never seen anything like that with blackberry.

I love android, but blackberry isn't trash. I can name several manufacturers who are worse.

don't all Blackberry devices come with about 3-4 games PRE-INSTALLED? 🤣

The advantages?

Stability
Security
Flexibility
Quality
Efficiency
Consistency
Dependability
The ability to be able to do actual work with it

At any rate...what are the alternatives?

Android? Sorry, I have no interest in Google spyware

iPhone? No thanks, I don't want to have to jailbreak a device just to make it useful, and the requirement to use iTunes is a deal breaker. Indeed, when it comes to privacy Apple is even worse than Google...even Google doesn't require me to give them my credit card number just to activate the phone....Apple does

Windows Mobile? Maybe....but let's see it is still around in 5 years time...

The only real argument against Blackberry is a rather lame one i.e. 'it's not hip and trendy...

...they do? i dont have a credit card on file on itunes, and i can activate my iPhone with no problem. sounds like someone is blindlessly spreading some incorrect information..shocking!

phone works great without a jailbreak as well. get your head out of your ass.

Two reasons why I love Blackberries, and probably always will.

Battery Life: far better than any other smartphone

Durability: also far better than any other smartphone.

I am a die-hard phone dropper, yet my 8330 curve is still going strong.

Thats absolutely true. Blackberry has (storm aside) avoided the battery draining plague of large touch-screens in favor of what they consider a more solid experience.

and they are certainly durable, aside from the trackball on the older ones!
