I had a few Virgin mobile phones back in the day, the cripple the piss out of them. I wonder how bad they'll lock down and cripple android on these phones.

I don't know why anyone would use Virgin--their customer service/website are the worst in the industry.

Nothing but problems with those phones. Plus Virgin runs on Sprint's network, so that's another strike against them (at least in my area). I would expect the phone to be completely crippled...

I don't care about crippled. I care about cutting my parents' cell bill in half...which I have. But it's Virgin, so...the cell service is fine. The customer service/website is the worst.

I am a virgin customer that needs a new phone. The X-TC sucks. I was going to buy the rumor touch until I read that they block you from adding third party apps. I will wait but you can not beat virgin's 25 dollar plan. But you need a phone that works.

Id rather pay a little more and have a fully functional phone with decent customer service, being a virgin mobile customer was the worst out of all the carriers I used.

If it was that bad it wouldn't be the most popular platform out there, and if you dont like the version of android the carrier gives you, you can always root and flash a rom that has what you want. With every other phone excluding windows, your pretty much stuck with what you get. Im just saying I expect virgin to lock out everything and cripple the phone so its barley functional. Being the lockbox money milking carrier virgin is, im shocked they even allowed Android at all, since it can be hacked and maybe flash a rom that allows downloading content and ringtones, mp3, non market apps, etc.
