With regards to atk
Am I correct in reading that atk is bad for android....specifically froyo? Should I uninstall before upgrading to froyo or is it too late...i never did use it much on my x..
...
Unless you want to make an already unstable OS even more unstable, get rid of it.

ATK is bad for android, Google made it so it CANNOT harm your device in Froyo. They disabled the API's the those programs used to kill apps so they're actually less harmful in Froyo because they won't work. So installing froyo with a task killer won't hurt your machine anymore than it is.
What task killers do is corrupt your system files (prior to froyo) and cause "force close" issues and sluggish performance.
So yes, uninstall immediately, but if you notice sluggish performance, or a ton of force closes, you might have to do a factory reset.

I have it on my 2.2 evo. I have the autokill set to off so it never closes anything. I use it to see whats running and if a program freezes i'll use it to close it. this happens maybe once a month or less. It's possible I shouldnt even do that. But basically if its not force closing stuff all the time its probably ok.

So killing apps doesn't work.
2.2 BLOCKS the ability of third party apps to kill applications *unless you give it root access... which is stupid to do*
