"CDMA-compatible Windows Phone 7 handsets won't be ready for the market until the middle of 2011..."

Just in time for the OS to be irrelevant...

Windows 7 on PC's is actually really slick. It's stable, consistent, and it doesn't look half bad either.

I'm really excited for WIN7Phone as well, though I'm not sure I would use it, I am excited how it will change the market.

Not to rag on the 'desktop' OS, but server OS is much more of a 'crappy OS' than the desktop.

I suspect that this is more of a 'pick the low fruit hanging from the tree' method, where GSM/WCDMA accounts for +90% of the global devices.

There appears to be more WCDMA (HSPA) subscribers globally than CDMA 1x/EVDO.

Using a windows 7 PC, is actually very cool. The best Windows yet. Everyone is going to compare the KIN phones to the Winmo7 phones. I personally do not think this will be a fair analysis. From what I have been hearing, the KIN line up was an extremely watered down version of what is going to be offered through the new Winmo 7 devices.

Although I currently use Android, I have always supported and used Winmo. I am really looking forward to see what the new Win7 will bring to the table.

I like mobile more than the desktop/laptop because there are a whole lot more OS choices, where as with desktop/laptop pcs Microsoft rules the world, not the case with the mobile world.

There used to be a lot more desktop OS's as well, in fact, well over a dozen at the height, they were all obliterated in the early 90's....

The best desktop OS was the Commodore Amiga, by a long shot, indeed, neither Windows, nor Mac nor Linux has truly caught up to Amiga yet....

I've used the OS. It is actually very good. If you want a taste of Windows Phone 7, go to your local best buy and play with the Zune HD, it runs an OS that is as fast and graphically similar to WP7.
