Verizon: No Windows Phone 7 for Us at Launch
No Windows Phone 7 for Us
Think WebOS. sprint was the launch partner, Verizon (and att) got it later
I don't blame them at all.
RIM chose to launch Blackberry 6.0 with at&t, doesn't mean VZW will never get it, because they will
Google chose to launch Android with T-Mobile, eventually it came to every carrier
Palm chose to launch WebOS as a Sprint exclusive, and then it went to VZW and then to at&t
I don't know who is getting the first WP7 phone, but it may well be that the reason VZW won't get WP7 'at launch' is because the carrier that will get the first device insisted on an exclusive arrangement for a period of time
I'm really interested to see what it brings to the table.
So have you checked out the TuneIn Radio app yet? Awesome app, has tons, and tons of radio stations.
I doubt exclusivity deals are an issue since there are so many different manufacturers scheduled to produce launch phones for the OS. Moreover, there's not enough wiggle room for any manufacturer to have a device unique enough to warrant an exclusivity deal with anyone. I mean, they will all have 1GHz CPUs, the same interfaces ... the only differentiating factor is screen size (and whether or not it has a QWERTY).
