Bing vs. Google - Possible theory

I know there are a lot of people up in arms over the Bing search vs Google and how Verizon really dropped the ball etc, etc, etc. However, when you think about some of the android devices on AT&T, they use Yahoo as a default.

Somebody I know actually had a really good theory, whether it's their own or not, but they deal a lot with Google in development and what not.

As more and more Google handsets are pushed to market, the risk of some anti-trust suit with Google being the default search tool on all of these devices increases. Think back to when Microsoft was shelling out all that money for the Internet Explorer default on EVERY windows pc sold. You guys probably get devices that are known good while an average consumer gets the less good ones.

First, I don't understand why this is such the big deal everyone makes it out to be. Who cares what's loaded on the phone if u can modify and change it to google instead of bing what's the difference. I could see if you weren't able to change the search engine but u can. Just like with ALL electronics they have default settings that are preloaded but can be modified. Secondly, the employees have to order their equipment online just like the customers do. There isn't a special inventory aside for employees to use to upgrade their phones through.

The problem is the Search Button. Anyone who buy a phone with his or her money should be able to change the Search Button to whatever search engine they want. VZ is saying that you can change the default search engine but the search button will always launch Bing. Thats Crap! It's a Google Phone not Windows Phone...VZ Sucks!!!

Most phones are pulled from the same stock customer phones are pulled from.

The BIGGEST difference is that being cellphone reps, we spend a lot of time with devices, so if something goes wrong, we try and figure out why so we can avoid it in the future instead of just going to a rep, demanding a new one, and then getting angry when we cause the same issue.
