What is the point of this?

Boost Mobile offers unlimited talk, text and web for $50 a month, why sign up for unlimited data ONLY for $10 more than that?

What exactly is the point?

And it also doesn't strike me as fair to charge you 'whether you use it or not'.....doesn't that negate the point of 'pay per use' plans?

Basically it lets the user pay per day instead of shelling out $50 ahead of time. So now a $10 refill is good for 5 days. They also offer a $3 a day blackberry plan. On the $2 plan it will end up costing $10 more this way but be the same price on the blackberry plan. You have the option of switching it so you can upgrade or downgrade.

The point is to give the pay as you go customers some options. I am a Boost pay as you go customer and on several occasions recently that 2 dollars unlimited would have come in handy. I would rather see them sell baskets of monthly no rollover minutes and text like virgin mobile.
