seriously...?
"However, T-Mobile has no 4G strategy."
Didn't PS have a big story about how the upgraded tmo network is faster than sprint's 4g?
And Sprint's 4g stands for 4th generation, not 4G speeds....
...
HSPA+ is not 4G. It sure is fast, and it might be faster (right now) than Sprint's WiMax, but it is not 4th Generation as defined by the 3GPP2.
T-Mobile has publicly stated that it wants to deploy LTE, but it hasn't said if, how, or when it will do that.
...
I never claimed tmo has 4G technology or speed.
My point is... why would tmo ever invest in a technology they are already surpassing?
...
I think technically, TMO's HSPA does not have the backaul or capabilities to handle large traffic. Tmo is kind of in an uncompromising position. They do have fast seeds, but to add a large amount of data subscribers, would hamper throughput. Yet, they don't have enough spectrum to launch a successful 4G to compete with the other big three.
In all honesty, regardless of past history, I think a merge or partnership of Sprint and Tmo is a win situation for all parties involved. Which ever they choose, WiMAX2 or LTE are right around the corner and the onset of financial involvement between both Tmo and Sprint, can only gain formidable competition for VZW and ATT which is definitely needed. It can work because GSM and

CDMA will not be needed once 4G is fully deployed. So the the sharing of the same technology will be evident.

"Formidable?" Sure. It would be another cluster*Bleep*. Get real. Give me a break. Please.

Then why the hell did you post at all? Your post seemed to dispute the quoted text.

Technically, neither LTE nor WiMax in their current iterations qualify as 4G either. 100Mbps minimum, right?
...
That would be correct.
