You have an amazing gift for the obvious--- sarcasm...not so much. In the end, however I wholeheartedly agree with you. Verizon give it up. No pre-paid option would be better than a ridiculous one such as this.

Wow. Derision and I-guess-you-could-call-it-praise in one post. I feel special.

Verizon's prepaid plans are simply not competitive. And the competition's networks aren't as bad as Verizon thinks.

AT&T is having some issues now but they will get them fixed soon.
Funny that they release this the same week that Virgin Mobile announces a $40.00 unlimited data plan. Sprint's data network is incredible. In Northwest markets (One of verizon's strongholds) we are getting speeds over 2mbps on 3G. What if Virgin Mobile was given access to the WIMAX network next year?

T-Mobile launched HSPA+ here and it is comparable to the current WIMAX standard.
Why pay so much for Verizon if the other carriers coverage works for youlike it does for 95% of Americans.

Don't misunderstand...when I was in sales, I hated selling pre-paid. Alltel had a Nationwide Freedom plan for $35 monthly and a Boomerang Pre-Paid plan for $34.95 when I worked there. Both plans included 300 peak minutes. The only difference in the plans was Unlimited Off-peak on the postpaid versus 3000 Off-peak on the pre-paid. Throw in a $79 handset on the pre-paid and I couldn't keep them in stock. Of course, I had a $300 bonus which I only received if half my new adds were post paid. Yep. Good ol' Alltel...and now Verizon is being run in the same fashion. Good luck to you sales reps.
