Buying a phone with Android
Getting Rid of AT&T and their data caps

Because
1) Android is crap
2) The Phones that run Android are crap
3) Most iPhone users still have unlimited AT&T data. So we get the fastest wireless network in the U.S and unlimited.

That's not the point, if you want software that works on a particular platform, go to that platform you silly coyote.

The data cap thing was more for effect, being grandfathered into a plan doesn't make it the best plan available, and if for some reason I started service with AT&T I couldn't enjoy the same benefits. Not really a great selling point for the network.

And if that doesn't work, then wait for Apple to copy the idea. They're hellaciously good at that, only they'll end up charging a ton of money for something that doesn't work when held in the left hand.

Most definitely. I've never said iOS isn't highly popular. If Sprint carried the iPhone without a data cap I'd probably own one at some point because I'd want to know what I support.

However.

You can't discredit the massive amount of extremely innovative (and free) services that Google is handing out, and as well as they integrate with Android, it's a pretty sweet deal. The EVO I'm carrying has a pretty good list of options and applications, ranging from tethering to remote desktop access to my home PC, YouTube video ripper, MP3 search engine, games and whatnot, and I've spent a grand total of a few dollars on all apps combined. That's a great deal. The only thing I ever hear people lament over not having is Angry Birds, which I'm sure...

Earth, where their 3G network with HSUPA runs laps around Sprint's WiMax network.

I will gladly email you a screen cap of the 4704kb/s with 200 ms latency down I am getting on my EVO using WiMax. I have yet to see an iPhone do that without WiFi.

These guys seem to agree with me too.
