Verizon Will Bring FiOS TV to Mobile Devices

Wow! I'm still trying to understand this announcement, but first impression seems like it is a big deal. VZC an VZW flexing muscle. I always wonder how Vodaphone fits in these decisions. One would think owning 45% in VZW would give them some sort of say in decisions but it seems like they just sit back and watch the world go by.

Recently I was reading a post on BGR about how impressived Verizon's FIOS internet is, impressive as in 900+mb/s!!!
Sadly FIOS is available in a very, very limited basis. No FIOS in Las Vegas, we're stuck with Cox here.

I have uverse here and it is not nearly as good... I wish I had Fios
On another note.... this would be awesome if you were not limited to your house. When I am at home I can just look up at the tv. How can slingbox broadcast over the internet and Fios limits you to your house?

I thought the same thing to myself when I read the article. That Slingbox doesn't seem to have any legal problems.

Most likely because Slingbox doesn't have any agreements with the content providers. As a TV provider, Verizon has contracts in place with all of the networks they carry.
