i interested in getting ATT captivate since it got 1G hummingbird. but i need my GPS! i get confuse with directions easily!
by Sept, i'm sure WP7 is only a month away, i going to get wp7 instead.
If you want Windows Phone 7, that's your choice, but don't expect that it'll be any less bug-free than Android on the Captivate. After all, with the Captivate, you have new hardware running an established OS. With WP7, you're going to have new hardware running an entirely new OS, so prepare for a potentially rough ride. Also, app development is going to have to get off the ground. Right now, developers are trying to write for the iPhone, Android, and BlackBerry. Many are stretched pretty thin as it is, and they're on...

Good luck on that one, prepare for countless issues on that WP7 P.O.S.
i wonder why people stand in lines DAYS to get playstation 3 or Wii (when they first came out) since the hardware/software never tested by general public! 🤣
Genius.
Windows phone 7 is going to have every asset that Microsoft can put into a phone. The Zune software is excellent, X-Box Live, Silverlight, etc.
Even Winmo with its limitations sold very well. It is very easy to sell Corporate America on a device that is relatively seamless with the corporate network and is a secure platform.
Many larger corporations will not allow an iPhone or an Android phone to access their network due to security concerns. Blackberry and Winmo are secure enough.
If you have never sold to big business then it is easy to see why Winmo gets little respect.
It is designed for business, not the gadget happy consumer. Microsoft is relatively unconcerned about ...

Microsoft provides excellent software that "just works" on both ends from the companies exchange server to phone. I personally use a Windows Mobile phone on exchange for my company.
But, for a consumer, falling back to Windows Phone 7 from Android because GPS had a small issue is sort of a bad reason.
WinMo in its current form hasn't sold well in the past two years, and it wasn't exactly a thriving ecosystem back in the "Well there's nothing better" days, either.
Second, as someone who worked with a medium-sized business deploying WinMo handsets, the OS is woefully incompetent for business purposes. Businesses don't need Zune Integration or XBox integration, either, but they do need a browser with proper security (WM doesn't have it), reliable synchronization (WM doesn't have it) , decent application security (WM doesn't have it) , reliable email clients (WM doesn't have it), and good messaging capabilities (WM doesn't have it.) The only thing WM has is good Exchange integration... which iOS and...

But if I want to take an office document with me I prefer Winmo. The iPhone has made some inroads into this arena but it is still pretty much owned by RIM and Winmo.

And I echo everyone else's sentiments. I have the Vibrant, and it is awesome. The GPS issue is very, very easily fixable. So why would you go with Windows Phone 7, an unknown OS that will have a very hard time getting off the ground over an established OS on a phenomenal device that will be getting a fix in a month?
