First you take their freedom when they rape, kill and plunder the masses...now you take their cellphones?! This is too much I say! It's uncivil!

This is a joke for all you R-Tards out there who'd think I was serious.

IDK about the part where people get jail time for smuggling phones into prison. I would think that having to put a cell phone up your hoo-hoo or your bunghole is punishment enough. 😉 (Another joke)

Hey I am just shocked that the Prez did not push for a several billion dollar plan to provide those under-served and poor in jail "due to the man" a free cell phone.

I am surprised he didn't actually just mandate a government takeover of the wireless industry....he has already nationalized the auto industry, the medical industry and the banks...why not the wireless industry as well?

Eh....I'm not so sure about this law

I mean...I agree prisoners shouldn't have cell phones but...I'm not sure what good a law will do

If having a rule against something meant that it could never actually happen....what a world that would be

But a review after one year to see if the law is working sounds like a good idea

Basically what this does is take a rule that really resulted in no punishment and turn it into a law, now that it's a law...anyone breaking it will add jail time or other fines/fees or whatever.

It makes it so that anyone providing a cellphone for an inmate is also punishable as well from what I understand.

How can we live in a world where prisoners aren't able to have all the luxuries of life!?

THIS! is so true. I'm a CO at an oregon prison, and the inmates have more cable programming options available to them then what I pay for. Granted, it is paid for by the inmate fund (a fund funded by inmates), but still, its prison, it shouldn't be.

So you would rather have a bunch of criminals plotting against each other and you?? That cable has saved some of your brothers lives trust me.. Most jails I have heard of use cable as a pretty big bargining chip and most inmates will talk out somthin petty rather than risk losing their window to the outside world..

Yeah. The cable should stay. Cellphones, they can use to scam people. There's been a bunch of reports on stuff like that happening.
