"The District Attorney of the State of New York has filed a lawsuit against makers of liquid crystal displays for TVs, computers and cell phones, alleging that the companies colluded to fix prices. The lawsuit names Samsung Electronics, Sharp, Toshiba, Hitachi Displays, LG Display, AU Optronics, Chi Mei, CMO Japan, and their U.S. affiliates. New York says the companies' price fixing scheme cost New Yorkers hundreds of millions of dollars. It is seeking damages and restitution to state and local governments. Several of the named companies settled a similar lawsuit with the federal government."

NY official claims LCD suppliers fixed prices

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) -- New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo on Friday sued several major suppliers of liquid crystal display screens used in computers, televisions and cell phones, claiming buyers paid extra because of a decade of price fixing.

Some of the companies settled earlier, similar federal charges.

The suit filed in state court in Manhattan seeks damages and restitution to state and local governments along with penalties for actions from 1996 to 2006 by companies in Japan, Korea, and Taiwan.

if they were found guilty once then the 5th Amendment protects them from this case.

Civil judgements are awarded the same protections. That only applies to criminal statutes. If collusion causes damage to 10,000 people, all 10,000 people have a right to settle.
