If only it had 3G Backdrop...

It's a shame Clear's 4G Network is so useless. Otherwise I think it's a clever way to get in on the iPad craze.

If you're an iPhone 2G user it's pretty clever too.

I'm sure i'm just baiting the troll here...but why would you think their network is useless? I consistently average 3Mbps on my EVO, which i would consider definitely not useless. And by the end of the year they'll be in over 60 markets. Still not seeing how it is useless.

Its useless to him because in his Igloo in Alaska the only cell phone tower where he lives is on the back of a polar bear that doesn't like him.

1. About half of the places I do business in don't have 4G coverage. Sprint's 3G coverage is pretty good.

2. Honestly Sprint's 4G coverage is pretty bad. Unless I'm 100% stationary, I can't get the network in Charlotte to work consistently indoors. It'd be nice to have the option to use 3G as a backdrop, as I could theoretically abandon my phone number and just use Skype with an iPod touch. (Theoretically, won't really happen.)

3. 3Mbps isn't bad, but in Charlotte (the nearest 4G location) I pull in 4Mbps on AT&T's 3G network.
