Looks like Verizon is taking Sprint serious enough to copy its plans.... I don't mind it drives competitive pricing!

Calling plans have always offered too little for too much!!! And I hate text messaging with a passion!!! It is so, so informal, indirect form of communication, but sometimes its an option to save minutes.

Just adding a $5 bucket of texts (200) to your plan can drive down talk-time considerably. It did for me. To the point where I don't want to talk to anyone anymore. lol If you want to reach me, text me!

I'm just the opposite. I feel that txtg is informal & indirect.
Talking is a more human form of commication.

Btw, check out how sophisticato I am! With the help of Menno of course I !manually! Installed the 2.2 update to my Motorola Droid.

I'm just an old grumpy bastard who remembers the days where you didn't have to yak on the phone all damned day. It's why I let all my calls go to voicemail & I answer them with texts. lol Suffice to say it's not exactly popular with friends. Oh, well...

Congrats on the 2.2 root. You're a cellular stud.

Ah your not that old. On the 28th of this month I will be 31.

And btw, I didn't root my Droid, I just manually installed the 2.2 update (with Menno's help of course). It really wasn't that hard.

Oh, well--there you go. And you don't have to worry about the root maybe not working.

I really impressed myself manually updating to 2.2! I didn't think of myself as that advanced of a user like Menno, epik, or bluecoyote. But it wasn't that hard.

The legitimate upgrades are generally pretty easy.

Oh, so I'm not as advanced as I think I am? There's a whole lot of people out there still waiting for the OTA update, I won't be waiting anymore.

Menno may wear his hat a little different (sideways) from the rest of us but underneath lies a bunch of knowledge.

Indeed, I think this is a sign that Sprint may be on the mend and giving Vzw/AT&T a run for their money.

Who knows, maybe there have been a lot of people asking Vzn for it. But something has got to be done about these calling plans, more value added features, to make what we pay for service worth it!

Still is not better than Friends & Family I think. With F&F I just add my Google Voice # and I call all I want. If VZW adds unlimited to any mobile then its retarted.

This is still a rip! I pay $69.99 for unlimited mobile to mobile, TV, Navigation, Text, and Blackberry Service. VZW is offering me unlimited mobile to mobile and text for $60 then 29.99 for BB Service, another $10 a month for nagivation, and another $15-30 a month for tv (depends on which plan i want). So for $115-130 I can get what I get for $69.99

Anyway, I really hope this new any mobile plan goes nationwide!

Google maps is lame especially when your on Sprint and get navigation included for free with no extra cost. Verizon charges because the people that know the difference will pay for the service even if they charge extra for it. Thats why I stick with Sprint because we get them both for free! 😎

Because they can't. Recording calls without a warrant is illegal. They use a transcription algorithm for Google Voice but it's all anonymous, non-specific information that they use to improve their voice to text servers.

People are freaked out about google, but let me ask you.. how many times has google leaked personal information or sold it (before it was anonymous)?

In fact, Google's one of the biggest names behind the Digital Due Process laws that makes your digital data just as secure as physical data (meaning people can't sell it without your consent)

But everytime I've asked someone to share a story about google sharing private data, people assume I am instead of answering the question.

You mean how apple takes your information and stores it? or how microsoft does? or how carriers do with their dumbphones?

If you're posting online or using a phone, your information IS stored. Period. At least google's up front about it and gives you easily found tools to limit that storage.

I doubt Verizon reacts much to what Sprint is doing these days. They tend to look at AT&T. 👀

I agree...some people refuse to face the facts, but your idea of what you think a "fact" is sometimes is very narrow minded. There is more to the phone world than Sprint this and Sprint that 🤣

Sometimes there is Verizon this or AT&T that or T-Mobile...A Sprint fanboy such as yourself never can see anything beyond Sprint...open your eyes 😁
